My Defence – Common Law defence of ‘reasonableness’
Sunday 24 May 2009 – Ian discovers his then wife had been having an affair with her Boss, Mr Tim Haynes, the CEO and Board Member of Guy Carpenter Limited, the world’s largest Reinsurance broker, when he sent a photo of himself masturbating in a basin, Guy Carp as they are known in the trade are also the world’s largest insurer to the Aviation Industry, this will be relevant later
Ian met his wife to be in 2005 and got married in 2007, in 2009 when he discovered the affair, he found the affair had begun in 1998.
Ian and his wife discussed the matter and decided to see if the marriage could be saved, he then called CEO Mr Tim Haynes and said he was aware of the affair and asked if his wife (Secretary to Mr Haynes) could be moved to a position somewhere else,
‘he was a ‘board member and had the authority to make this happen’…I reasoned ?
CEO Mr Haynes replied its none of your business ….now fuck off and put the phone down.
The next day Ian called Mr Nick Franklin the Chairman of Guy Carpenter Limited and explained the affair situation and asked if Mrs P could be moved.
The next day Mrs P was moved to a similar role working for another CEO in a different part of the reinsurance business, using a different entrance but in the same office building located next to Tower Bridge that should have been the end of the matter Ian reasoned.
Wrong
Ian had embarrassed the CEO of Guy Carpenter Limited and he was going to pay for it. The CEO reported Ian to Sussex Police for Harassment, one for calling him (which he had) and then two, for calling his boss the Chairman Mr Nick Frankland.
Sussex Police handled the complaint from Mr Haynes. The Police Sgt in his notes confirmed that Ian’s calls where NOT criminal and stated that he believed it was a civil matter at best and Ian’s behaviour was ‘reasonable’, just ‘asking for his wife to be moved’.
Ian then tells Mr Haynes wife, Annja Haynes about the affair, something he regrets. Ian didn’t know that she was previously his Secretary and that the CEO had left his first wife to be with her. Mr Haynes was caught cheating again.
Sussex Police refuse to Prosecute Ian citing, ‘this is a civil matter’.
The Set Up
Harassment – “course of conduct” is a series of two or more related incidents that constitute harassment’ I didn’t know back in June 2009 that Benedict aka Ben Hamilton the Managing Director of Kroll was advising Mr Tim Haynes and coaching him, Kroll had launched Operation Martin to discredit and destroy me’.

Ian’s office receives a call from Mrs Haynes, Tim’s wife, the call is recorded and logged by the office staff, the office software Commusoft sends Ian a SMS/Text asking him to call her urgently …..However, she leaves her husband’s mobile number, not hers, Ian is suspicious and doesn’t return her call.
12 June
The same thing happens again, this time the caller calls Ian’s office twice on the same day, at 10.09am and then again at 2.15pm.
Ian is suspicious and doesn’t return her call.
15 June
Again, the female caller left a message urgently requesting I call her back…..but again leaves her husband’s phone number. Ian doesn’t call.
‘Who calls someone several times and says its urgent but leaves someone else’s number? It just didn’t feel right’ – says Ian

Ian and work colleague George Rees are driving along, when Ian receives a call from a withheld number, Ian answers the call on hands free, the female caller introduces herself as Mrs Haynes (who is German and has an accent)
Ian immediately says …..I recognised your voice (ish) you are NOT Mrs Haynes, the female caller hangs up.
Thinking about the call ……Ian suspects the caller is Hazel Sibbald, a close work friend of Mrs Puddick
That night, Ian told Mrs P all about the calls to his office from Mrs Haynes, and then the direct call he had received earlier that day and that he believed it might be her friend Hazel Sibbald, Mrs P said Hazel would never do that.

Mrs P asked Hazel about the calls which she denied, however Hazel was nervous when confronted and then admitted making the calls to Ian as Tim Haynes had asked her.
Hazel had been used to try and set up Ian, Ian believes that if he had made the call….Then Tim Haynes could then make serious allegations against Ian, which would be of a criminal nature.

We know this because Kroll emails disclosed to Ian by the CPS between 2010 and 2011 ready for Ian’s trial in Westminster Magistrates 15, 16, 17th June 2011.

Mrs P is Arrested Conspiracy to Pervert the Course of Justice
Ian’s wife is arrested by City of London Counter Terrorism Police, they accuse of her of ‘Conspiracy to Pervert the Course of Justice’ for making up the affair with her boss Tim Haynes.
Mrs P informs the C/Terrorism Officers that there had been a long term sexual affair with her Boss, Tim.
The officers refuse to believe her stating that they know that she is only saying this as Ian has made her say this and she is in fear of him as he Ian bullies her, Ian is a plumber and is motivated by jealously of her multi-millionaire boss.

6.30am City of London Police Counter Terrorism raid Ian’s home and arrest him for Non Violent Harassment for calling Mr Tim Haynes and asking if his wife could be moved and then the next day calling the Chairman Nick Frankland
Whilst the officers allowed Ian to get dressed, he overheard them ‘discussing’ why on earth did they request Helicopter support for the arrest?
Ian did a FOI Freedom of Interest request and asked who requested Helicopter support and on what grounds? – the FOI was refused by City of London Police
Ian was arrested by Sgt Dan Piper who Ian describes as a very nice decent officer, who treated him very well.
David Burrowes MP for Enfield and Southgate was contacted on the evening of 11th August by Enfield Police Borough Commander that a large Counter Terrorism raid was happening on his patch early in the morning.

Ian explained that he was in the process of applying to become a Magistrate and the Ministry of Justice recommended that a person attend court, familiarise ones self with the court and see how it works and watch and make notes on various cases, this is all I have done

Professor Louise Marland told the meeting that her findings were that the Police were unaccountable and that corruption and misconduct existing as police officers were culturally obliged to uphold what she called the ‘Blue Code’ i.e. don’t grass up your fellow officers.

Guy Carpenter Expenses Fraud and the £1m pay off
Ian reported Mr Tim Haynes of Guy Carpenter Re-Insurance to the US Authorities the (SEC) Securities and Exchange Commission for breach of (SOX Act) Sarbanes Oxley Act which makes it a criminal offence for the person and employer to ‘fiddle their expenses’. Guy Carpenter Limited was quoted on the New York Stock Exchange and therefore subject to SOX Law.
Mr Haynes had been making payments using his company expenses to pay hotels for sex meetings and then claiming he was in meetings with ‘clients’, the clients were named on his expense sheets.
December 2009 – Feb 2010
‘After denials & denials and a tissue of Lies, Tim Haynes is completely busted’ says Ian
Nick Frankland and Vice President of HR Terri Woods were forced to carry out an internal disciplinary investigation of Mr Haynes and his misuse of company expenses.
Mr Haynes denied everything and said he had been set up by his PA Mrs Puddick who actually completed his expense forms.
Mrs P had to meet with Nick and Terri, who explained that she was being blamed for the expenses fraud, Mrs P explained that Mr Haynes gave her a post it note with the names and companies that she needed put on the expense form and say they had a meeting in the Hotel.
Terri Woods suggested that they contact the customers to see if ‘customers’ had had attended meetings at the hotels on the foresaid dates.

Guy Carpenter only had copies of the expense forms, they requested the original forms which had been archived in India, days later the original expense forms arrived.
On inspection of the original expense forms, investigators found post it notes stapled to the expense forms with names and companies hand written on them in Tim Haynes personal hand writing.
Mr Haynes still suggested that he was being set up and arrogantly suggested Guy Carpenter ReInsurance contact the named persons on the expense form, Mr Haynes knew that Nick Frankland could not do that as it would be very embarrassing for the company’s reputation and perceived integrity’

Mr Haynes resigned with immediate effect, signed and a confidentially agreement and was paid £1,000,000.00 settlement

Kroll Associates charged Guy Carpenter ReInsurance nearly £1,000,000 for Operation Marten, this was to destroy Ian’s business and his reputation.
Mischon De Reya is estimated to have charged Kroll/Guy Carpenter nearly £500,000 in legal fees to get an ‘ex parte’ high court hearing, which gave Kroll full access to Ian Puddicks personal and business bank accounts and also his personal mobile and company records, including full access to text/sms content.

Arrested for repeated breach of Police Bail and interviewed by Sgt Sarah Mayo at Bishops Gate Police Station
After the interview Sarah Mayo placed Ian back in a cell and said he could go when he signed the Police bail forms, Ian agreed to sign the Police Bail form which said he had to remove his website.
‘I didn’t have any choice so I immediately signed the Police Bail Form agreed to remove my website……then I was out and free, I then just ignored the police bail nonsense’ – says Ian
At Ian’s Trial in June 2011, District Judge Elizabeth Roscoe asked Ian why he had deliberately ignored the repeated arrests and subsequent Police Bail terms ?
Ian replied, everything on my website is accurate and true, I am not going to be told by a Police Officer what I can and cannot say, if a court asks me to remove my website, whilst I may disagree with the Courts decision, I will respect the Courts jurisdiction however I do believe any police officer has the right to tell me what I can or cant say.
The Judge agreed and dismissed ALL the breach of Police Bail charges.

Ian’s solicitor Sarj called Mark Berry at his office at AXA Reinsurance to find out what was going on, Mark told Sarj that City of London Police Counter Terrorism Sgt Sarah Mayo had visited him, Mark explained that a Journalist had called him in connection with Mr CEO Affair with his secretary, Mark told the journalist that he wasn’t getting involved.
Sarah Mayo asked Mark if he would make a statement confirming that the call had been made by Ian Puddick, Mark said he had no idea who Ian Puddick was and that he wasn’t prepared to lie. Mayo left promising to return but never did.

3 November 2010 Arrested for Section 4 Credit Card Fraud
Ian is searched, his wallet and phone are confiscated, and Ian is placed in the cells then brought out into the Custody area
Ian is cautioned by Sarah Mayo
Sgt Sarah May and DC Julian Bell arrest Ian and take him in for interview at Bishops Gate Police Station. Whilst walking to the interview room Mayo said to Ian that his repeated breaches of ignoring Police Bail Conditions and now alleged Credit Card Fraud will not be seen lightly by a court and that I would very likely be sentenced to a Jail Term due to the very serious nature of his repeated offences
Mayo states that she has evidence of a crime and she is legally bound to investigate.
Mayo admitted in recorded in Police Interview that Ian’s posts were mainly targeted at City of London Police, its use of Counter Terrorism and disproportionate use of money in investigating Ian
In the interview Mayo states that her team had contacted the CEO of Monster Domains Matt Mansell* who confirmed that Ian had purchased www.policeexpenses.co.uk from his company and that he had paid using his HSBC Leakbusters Limited Credit Card for £12.60 – this means had stolen £12.60 from his own company.
Mayo stated that this was not only a criminal offence but also misuse of Company expenses.
*Matt Mansell gave evidence in June 2011 Trial against Ian and stated that Ian could have used very technical deceptive techniques online to mask and/or hide his IP address and that it was very clear that Ian was using subterfuge and deception. Matt gave evidence to the Court for 1 hour going into detail how Ian was definitely deliberately breaking the law.
Under cross examination by Wolkind QC using Ian’s Expert Ron Cufley (Ex Police and Military Intelligence).

DC Julian Bell admitted that he attended Speakers Corner Hyde Park undercover to monitor Ian (he said it was quite interesting listening to Ian lol)
Ian was not charged with any offences.
‘Mr CEO had been investigated for using his company expenses and been fired from his job, the Police knew this would come out in Court, so they decided to try and fit me up for the same thing knowing I hadn’t done that but it would effetely muddy the waters and make me look a criminal who steals money….but it didn’t work…lol’ says Ian
Wolkind QC shredded Mayo at Trial over this is June 2011, she admitted that she had never investigated Mr CEO for misuse of his company expenses and she didn’t believe that he would behave like that as he was a CEO

The Professional Burglary
Mrs P called Ian and said….I just got home, we’ve been burgled, the burglar/s smashed decorative lead glass on the front door and internal door.
At first nothing seemed to have been stolen.
The burglar/burglars removed the iPad which was sat onto of my court defence documents box, the iPad was placed on the table and was not stolen.
‘I think that the people that organised the burglary hoped I would go online and blame my wife’s boyfriend, Mr Tim Haynes and harass him, obviously I don’t believe for one moment he was involved nor knew anything about it.
Who stood to benefit from stealing my court defence documents …….this is the million dollar question ??
The answer is simple, Michael Wolkind QC had secured a Witness Summons on Guy Carpenter Chairman Nick Frankland who could confirm under oath why Mr CEO had really resigned, Guy Carp or more importantly the Parent Company, Group (MMC*) Marsh McLennan Company* …must have been desperate to see what dirt was going to come out in Court and see what embarrassment they would be exposed too’ – Says Ian

7 March 2011 ‘I hope you don’t get pregnant & if you do, your Baby dies’
Mrs Annja Haynes called Mrs P and said I hope you don’t get pregnant and if you do I hope the Baby dies’
Mrs P understands Mrs Haynes anger and frustration,
Ian convinces Mrs P to register this with Police reasoning that if he had behaved like that, he would arrested by armed response almost immediately
Mrs P reports the call to the Met Police and fully explains the context and background (understanding Mrs Haynes upset and anger)
A week later Sgt Sarah Mayo sends Mrs P a ‘warning harassment letter’ with a copy of a statement from Mrs Annja Haynes who confirms that she had never called Mrs P and this was an example of the regular harassment that she and her husband Tim received from Team Puddick’
Mrs Haynes states that she has never called Mrs P and this a good example of the levels of harassment that she and her husband receive on an almost daily basis from team Puddick.
‘at trial on 15th June, Mrs Hanyes was asked by Michael Wolkind QC …..you are under oath, I want a Yes or No answer…did you call Mrs Puddick and scream at her down the phone and say I hope you don’t get pregnant and if you do I hope the baby dies’ ????

‘at my trial in June 2011, Wolkind QC asked Mrs Haynes who she blamed for the affair and she said Mr Puddick, I felt sorry for her because it was apparent that she had no idea that her husband had been cheating her since 1998 and she was stood in the Witness Box learning all about the affair for the first time, she made it clear that she didn’t believe any of it, and as she kept saying, this all harassment by team Puddick’ – says Ian

Ian is sat in bumper to bumper traffic in Muswell Hill, a Met Police car with sirens and blue lights slowly makes its way through the traffic and pulls up next to Ian’s vehicle, ensuring none of the traffic can now move in either direction.
Uniformed officer got out of his car in a flash, asked Ian his name and then handcuffed him to the steering wheel.
Ian asked what he had done, the officer was very nice and apologised and explained that vehicle was flagged up arrest on sight, the officer then called in to see what it was all about? The officer was told that vehicle was a stolen vehicle ?
Ian chatted to the officer who very nice and told him about the whole case. The officer freed Ian and wished him luck
At Ian’s trial, on the last day 3pm 17th June, the CPS applied to the court to bring in new evidence…Ian was standing in the dock watching Wolkind QC and the CPS Barrister and the Judge in discussions.
The prosecutor said to Ian, we have new evidence against you and Wolkind QC has accepted this as admissible.
CPS Prosecutor – a Met Police officer has produced a statement that he arrested you for driving a stolen car and that you threatened the officer
Ian – no, the officer was really nice, I explained I owned the vehicle, he checked and could see it was taxed and MOT’d. I told him about all this Police nonsense, he wished me well with the trial
CPS Prosecutor – why did you threaten him ?
Ian – I have no idea what you are talking about, you will have to ask him. I thought he was nice.

Ian is arrested again for making a threatening telephone call to the Haynes family home phone, Mrs Haynes answered the phone and said she had received a threatening call and that Ian Puddick was behind the call, Sarah Mayo alleged that I had arranged for someone from www.gfk.com to call her and then threaten her.
Ian said he had never heard of a company called GFK NOP and didn’t know anyone that worked there, Sgt Mayo said they had the recording of the call and that I was definitely very threatening and I was to blame.
Ian asked to hear the recording
Mayo refused. (at my trial in June, Sarah Mayo admitted that she did not have a recorded call)
Michael Wolkind QC obtained a court order to obtain details of the call from GFK NOP Limited to the Haynes home phone.
“I can confirm that on the 15th April 2011 one of our operatives had called the Haynes household as part of our marketing and surveying calls, Mrs Annja Haynes said politely said that she was not interested and the call was terminated”

Ian is arrested by Sgt Mayo this time for driving a stolen car and having no insurance. Ian was able to show he had owned the vehicle for over 3 years and that it was taxed and insured

28 April 2011 Arrested at Speakers Corner for Hate Speech
Sgt Mayo and DC Julian Bell also from Counter Terrorism interview Ian concerning Hate Speech at Speakers Corner, Counter Terrorism Detective Julian Bell went undercover to Speakers Corner. Julian said that everything that Ian said was harassing Mr Tim Haynes
Ian replied I’ve never mentioned Tim Haynes, my complaint is against Police brutality and all this nonsense harassment campaign targeted against me.
Julian Bell – I admit that everything you said was focused on the Police, but how do you think Mr Haynes would feel about you going to Speakers Corner ?
Ian – I haven’t a clue, I don’t know him, I’ve never met him and I only spoke with him once when I asked him if Mrs P could be moved and he shut me down by telling me to fuck off, Ian then said no comment to the rest of the questions which were all focused on trying to get him to admit that Mr Haynes would be upset at Ian attending Speakers Corner.
